Twin fireflies
See there – on the meadow! Two
fireflies: one burning red, the other – a soft green. They have come out to
honor their round mother – the Moon. See how they spiral upwards? They twist
and turn around one another. Such a graceful dance, their flames engulf the
surrounding air and you feel suffocated, because you cannot look away. Your
emotions disappear, your senses concentrate. You can only see and feel the
fireflies. Ah, now they fly in parallel circles and create big rings in the
air. You can feel they want to paint the sky, even the Moon in red and green.
Another
firefly appears. It’s blue, what a cold color. It wants to destroy the warm
fireflies. It circles and twists around them. The air gets colder and colder.
The green firefly cannot endure. It falls, but the red one hurries to it and
begins to fly in complicated and unending patterns. The green twin stops
dropping and shoots high in the air. The green flame burns hotter and the
cold-blue firefly weakens. Its patterns stop and the blue fly flaps desperately
with its wings. Then the red one comes back joins its twin and they both charge
the green one as they swing by him.
The blue
firefly is defeated and falls to the ground. But the twins do not let it fall.
They support it on their flames. The heat changes the cold one. Slowly he turns
purple and flies away in graceful patterns. Legends say that the now warm
purple firefly flew off to the Moon, so he can forever take care of it, give it
warmth with its beautiful dance.
